YUMMY   GREENBEANS

1 lb. of young, sm. greenbeans
4 qts. of boiling water
2 tbsp. salt or other seasonings
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 lg. clove garlic crushed
salt and pepper to taste

String the beans, wash well and boil rapidly in salted water, uncovered, until barely tender and still firm (taste them to make sure).  Drain and run under cold water to stop the cooking.  Pat dry.  Melt butter and add garlic and cook gently until softened.  DO NOT BROWN! Pour over beans and taste for seasoning.  May be made ahead.  To reheat put in microwave for 2 minutes on high heat or heat in saucepan over low heat.  First Lady
